Founded in 1980 by Howard Day, Ultimate Eyecare has been a fixture and go-to in eyecare for Forster locals for over 40 years. Although Howard himself retired from the practice in 2018, the same quality standard of care has continued on with current practice owner, Mariki Boshoff, at the helm. Mariki and her team are proud to provide individualized eyecare to the Forster community. Our relationships with other community healthcare providers such as GP’s and Ophthalmologists, coupled with our distinct attention to detail, results in a holistic care model for you and your whole family with Ultimate Eyecare.

Optometrist Mariki Boshoff

Mariki brings a wealth of optical experience on a worldwide scale. After training and commencing her career in South Africa, she has since practiced in New Zealand before settling in Forster with her husband and optical dispensing whizz, Cobus. Between them, they bring well over 20 years industry knowledge and expertise which cannot be found elsewhere. Mariki is therapeutically qualified, allowing her, when required to prescribe eye medicines. Her commitment to optometry runs deep, with her continuing studies in degenerative conditions like Glaucoma, a testament of her commitment to improving clinical care and patient outcomes.
